Trend Watch 2025
One of my favorite things about traveling to tradeshows at the beginning of each new year is seeing what trends emerge. It's fascinating to me that an entire industry can be on the same page at the same time. Wandering from showroom to showroom, it's easy to see hints of the same inspiration - shapes, objects, colors, icons, etc. in just about any direction.
Having so many vendors selling similar products in one place makes it very easy to spot trends - they're hard to miss (unless you're just not paying attention)!
Here's a quick list of the trends that I saw at Atlanta Market in January of 2025. I predict that you will see these things not only at Barque, but at other small shops around the country and in bigger stores too - Target, Anthropologie, Walmart and more. Take a peek and keep your eyes peeling for these items on store shelves near you:
TREND WATCH 2025
1. Bows... on everything (yes, still)! Bows have been big for awhile now, but they're not going away in 2025 from what we can tell. There were tons of holiday decorations with bows, so we know they'll still be around until the end of the year.
2. Strawberries - This classic fruit has also been trending for awhile, but it's still making its mark in a big way. What I love about this trend is that not all of the "strawberry things" are red! Lots of pinks and hues that lean towards coral are being showcased, and that's a fun twist on the original.
3. Cherries - Make room for another fruit on the scene - cheery cherries! This seems like a happy trend to me. I didn't mind seeing cherries on mugs, plates, home decor and more. In fact, we might see a hint of this trend in our Barque Birthday theme this year (hint hint).
4. Sardines - Tinned fish are in! We love sardines (and we sell some great ones if you like them too), but who knew those little fish would be so popular? At Market they were on everything from earrings to purses to journals, but we're not mad about it.
5. Pasta - Pasta as a trend seems a little odd, but I guess the world is ready to have their pasta (and eat it too)? This trend was seen on candles (yes, like candles you put on a cake), bookmarks, jewelry and more. We didn't go crazy on buying up this trend, but we did get the cutest little bow tie pasta charm for our charm bar.
6. Tomatoes - It might seem a little odd, but I don't mind tomatoes being in the spotlight. They're a beautiful and versatile fruit.
7. Charms - This year is all about charms, apparently... we of course we introduced a Charm Bar! Ours is for bracelets and necklaces, but we even saw this trend for adding to footwear.
There you have it, friends. Keep an eye out for these trends and let us know if you see them out in the wild!
